Continued Dance Studies Scholarships
In keeping with the mission to support further study in dance and dance education, the MDEA is offering scholarships to high school, undergraduate, graduate students, and working professionals studying dance.
Scholarships will be funded up to a $800.00 maximum.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
Scholarship applications are to provide dance students and working professionals with the opportunity for increased and broadened dance experience. Scholarships may be used for college/university or other dance studies such as summer intensives, workshops, and festivals.
The intended experiences should:

High School (9th-12th grade)

Full-time student

Preference given to an NHSDA member

Minimum GPA of 2.8 (Overall)

Undergraduate/Graduate

Full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate dance major or minor

Preference given to an NHSDA member

Available to all levels within the major

Professional Development

Current member of MDEA

Continued Education must be consistent with the applicants field of work.

If awarded, the awardee must maintain their MDEA membership for the duration of the continued studies activity as described in the application.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES
The application must be completed, addressing all items and criteria listed.
Scholarships will be awarded based on the merit of the application and will be selected in accordance with award criteria. Incomplete applications will not be considered for scholarship consideration.
All applications must be electronically submitted on the MDEA Continued Studies Scholarship form. For students under 18, an electronic parent signature is required, and supporting documentation emailed by the deadline.
The scholarship deadline is Friday, April 5, 2024. Completed applications will be reviewed by the MDEA Grants and Scholarships Committee. Award recipients will be notified and announced within 4 weeks after the application deadline.
Announcement of the scholarship will be shared in a spring MDEA e-newsletter. Attendance at the Annual MDEA Conference Awards and Recognition Session is strongly encouraged.

Complete the application form: including submitting a headshot (max file size is 1 MB) and photo credit

Email the following items to MDEA -- info@mddanceed.org:

Two letters of recommendation:
-
One from a current dance teacher for students; one from current supervisor or equivalent for working professionals; and
-
One from someone who can speak to your work ethic (May or may not be dance related)
